DEEPINDER DYAL , AUDIT
What is your background?
I am from the UK and earned my undergraduate degree in Economics at the University of Warwick. I then went on to complete a Master’s in International Business at Warwick Business School, where studying a range of accounting modules reinforced my desire to work in the accounting industry.
Why did you choose to work for Grant Thornton?
Grant Thornton is one of the largest accounting firms in the world, with a strong presence in the Channel Islands. The primary reason for joining the firm was the opportunity to work alongside highly experienced and respected professionals, while gaining valuable experience, and exposure to a diverse client portfolio. The recruitment process provided a clear indication of what to expect working for the company, in terms of both opportunities and professional development, making it a very difficult offer to turn down.
What is your role and what do you like about your position?
I’m an Audit Associate, which typically involves supporting all aspects of the audit process. Within a short time at the company, I developed a clear understanding of how audit engagements are structured and how each phase contributes to the final deliverables. I’ve been provided with a great opportunity to learn from a number of different colleagues, and my development has been greatly assisted by their willingness to support, whether that is other associates or more senior members within the firm.
Why do you like working at Grant Thornton
Grant Thornton provides a great working environment.
From the first day it was apparent that everyone was very welcoming, and the supportive culture certainly made my transition to life in Jersey much easier. Additionally, the early exposure to meaningful client work has created strong development opportunities, allowing for quick professional growth and making the experience particularly rewarding.
