WORK EXPERIENCE

The work experience we offer provides a unique insight that will give you a taste of what it’s like to work in professional services. To apply for work experience you will need to be in Year 12 or 13.

This experience will help you get a deeper understanding of the three main business areas of our firm (Audit, Tax and Advisory – more on them in the next section below) by taking part in insight sessions and practical exercises relating to these areas.

Explore the different types of business areas you’ll get to learn.

Business Areas

Our clients are operating in uncertain times. It’s our role as an auditor is to act independently to support trust and integrity in the business.

Right from the start, you’ll develop relationships built on credibility and trust with clients across a wide range of sectors. As you will get to spend time with clients at their sites, you’ll get to the heart of how they work and what challenges they face. You’ll learn how to provide the business and financial advice they need to grow and make the right decisions about the future. With a relentless focus on quality and integrity, you'll help our clients to flourish.

The Channel Islands are world renowned for being an international finance centre and a lot of our audit engagements are in that space.  Your work will not only make a difference to your clients, but will help enhance the reputation of the Channel island as a global leader and a centre of excellence in the financial services markets. We also deliver audit services to local, commercial enterprises, that helps them develop and grow both at home and abroad.

Whether you are in the local or financial services market sector, your role will be challenging, rewarding and interesting. You’ll get hands-on experience of different aspects of audit, working on all kinds of projects ranging from the simple to complex.  This variety of work makes the audit role both stimulating and rewarding.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for talented people who want to be a part of something bigger. Free to be yourself, confident and approachable. You must be a great relationship builder who can inspire everyone around you with your energy and ideas.

You should share our CLEARR values – Collaboration, Leadership, Excellence, Agility, Respect and Responsibility.

Always striving to grow yourself, you should be driven to succeed with the ability to see tasks through to the end and remain agile, even when things don’t go to plan. Your ability to see the bigger picture and also drill down into the small detail will make you stand out from the crowd – a real natural when it comes to solving problems, you’ll be able to analyse the numbers and back them up with strategic advice. Being a part of a team is at the heart of how we work here – you’ll be able to balance working as part of a team and take ownership of the part you play.

We have a flexible approach to academic entry requirements. We’ll consider your academic achievements, but your strengths, motivations and connection with us and our values are more important. We’re looking for people with a broad range of interests and experiences.
